14th meeting of experts of NARC member states concluded, Thursday, May 4, 2023, in Algeria, on its third consecutive day.
Experts of Member States finalized their discussions of remaining items on their agenda, after which they proceeded to review the report of the 14th meeting of experts, which was recorded by the Drafting Committee based on the discussions that reflect the recommendations of Member States’ experts.
The meeting concluded with a detailed report that included the recommendations of member states’ experts on all issues on the agenda of their 14th meeting.
Head of the planning element stated that the meeting was held in an atmosphere characterized by cordiality, seriousness, and keen interest to come up with recommendations that would advance the work of NARC components forward, as crystallized through the remarkable consensus of member states’ experts on most of their agenda items.
In their report, the experts recommended the adoption of the draft logistic concept and the results of some workshops, including the framework for civil society organizations, the African Union guide for verifying pledges for the African Standby Force, NARC 2023 budget, and other important topics.
It is noteworthy that experts’ report is referred to the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of Member States for approval, and then it is referred in the form of a report of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff and the Council‘s report to the Council of Ministers of Defense of Member States for approval.
