President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and current Chairman of the “North Africa Regional Capability,” affirmed Egypt’s full commitment to supporting this capability.
His Excellency indicated that the African continent is witnessing complex and interconnected geopolitical challenges, including armed conflicts, the proliferation of terrorism, transnational organized crime, in addition to the repercussions of climate change. He emphasized that these challenges threaten security, stability, and development in Africa, necessitating concerted efforts to confront them.
He added: “From this standpoint, activating and enhancing regional mechanisms concerned with maintaining peace and security on the continent has become essential.”

Your Excellency President João Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola and Chairperson of the African Union, Your Excellency President Teodoro Obiang, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Your Excellencies Heads of State and Government, Distinguished Attendees,
I begin my address by extending my sincere thanks and gratitude to my brother, His Excellency President Teodoro Obiang, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, for the warm reception and generous hospitality. I also extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to my brother, His Excellency President João Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, for his wise leadership of joint African action.
I would also like to congratulate and express my sincere appreciation to the leaders of the new Commission, led by Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, affirming our support for their ambitious agenda to reform the organization’s work and improve its efficiency and performance.
