The study session on the utilization of cyberspace for terrorist purposes in Africa, which was conducted by the Planning Element of the Capability in coordination with the African Center for Terrorism Studies and Research, concluded today, Friday, September 29, 2023, in the capital city of Algiers, Algeria.<\/p>

The session lasted for a period of four consecutive days and saw the active participation of experts from the United Nations, AFROPOLE, and other specialized centers across the continent, as well as representatives from member states of the Capability.<\/p>

The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed individuals including the Executive Secretary of the Capability’s North Africa Region, the Director of the African Center for Terrorism Studies and Research, the Head of the Planning Element, and a representative from AFROPOLE.<\/p>

Throughout the four-day session, various perspectives on the topic of utilizing cyberspace for terrorist purposes and its connection to cybercrime were thoroughly discussed. The session highlighted the urgent need for the development of national legislation that aligns with the magnitude of the threats, as well as the importance of formulating regional and continental strategies to effectively combat these challenges.<\/p>

In collaboration with the Planning Element, the African Center for Terrorism Studies and Research will publish a concise booklet summarizing the proposals, policies, and ideas presented during the seminar. This publication will serve as a valuable point of reference among the center’s collection of publications on terrorism-related subjects.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
