PLANELM chief held a virtual meeting on Sunday, March 12, 2023, with commanders of NARC components (Brigade Command- Logistic Base Egypt – Logistic Base Algeria).
The meeting focused on the preparations required to conduct a field training exercise (FTX) next year.
In his opening remarks of the meeting, which was also attended by the legal advisor and the training officer, the PLANELM chief welcomed commanders of NARC components, praising the significant role and contribution of the components which are the backbone of the deployment process.
He pointed out the importance of conducting an FTX, since it is a prerequisite for the African Union to declare a regional standby force of RECs/RMs as achieving a Full Operational Capability (FOC).
Then, he gave an overview of the FTX required to be conducted, and the need to study its concept thoroughly by commanders of the components to come up with a unified concept that will be presented to NARC next meeting.
He highlighted some principles that should be used to come up with a unified idea for the exercise so that everyone be on the same page.
