Today, in Algeria, the Executive Secretary of the North Africa Region inaugurates a workshop aimed at reviewing the preparedness and readiness plans for the region

Today, Monday, December 18, 2023, the activities of the workshop for reviewing preparedness and readiness plans commenced in Algeria, with the participation of delegations from member states of the organization. The Executive Secretary and the Chief of Planning Element in the organization inaugurated the workshop. In his speech, the Executive Secretary welcomed the participants and expressed his interest in this workshop, which serves as a culmination of the activities for the year 2023. He commended the Executive Secretariat and the Planning Element for reviewing the readiness issue after implementing numerous activities throughout the year.

It is worth mentioning that the Planning Element conducted a command center exercise at the administrative base in Jijel, Algeria, at the end of last November, which is an important requirement in the context of enhancing operational readiness. In the same context, the region received a verification team from the Commission, which inspected the contributions and permanent components. Over the course of four days, the workshop will discuss readiness and preparedness plans, as well as requirements within the framework of practical preparedness for the region. A comprehensive review and evaluation of the activities implemented during the past year will be conducted, along with preparations for the upcoming year, which will witness the execution of a field exercise for the region.
